BECOMING A DIAMOND

Category: "Personal Development"

========================================
The story is told of two young men that grew up in the same environment, went to school the same period and graduated the same year from high school.

One of these boys was said to have read over six hundred books covering areas such as human development, psychology of success, etc. While the other was working in restaurants and fast-foods and other related platforms.

Nineteen years after, these two boys met at the home coming meeting of their Alma mater and at this point they were continents apart.

While the one who was very busy working without developing himself was worth $6.75 per hour, the other one who invested his time in developing himself in his area of interest was said to be worth $200,000 an hour. What a world!

No raw material has real value. It has to be processed. It has to be refined before you can get the best of value out of it. A diamond is just a piece of charcoal that went through a process.

Look here;
Are you developing yourself?
Are you going through the process?
Are you participating in your own growth?
How much of your money is re-invested into your growth?

As a professional, it is not enough to say because you have had your first degree then that is the end. You don't have to go back to school for another degree but your self development must continue.

I know of people who have never read a single book after graduating from school, but they never fail to renew their DSTV subscription. That is an anomaly.

You might be a charcoal right now. But if you are able to commit to the right process you will come out a diamond. However, only a few people really dedicate themselves to this process. The majority are onlookers.

The reason Pareto's principle states that 20 percent of the people get 80% of the wealth is not because there is any magic behind it. it is because only a few people actually dedicate themselves to do the work necessary to achieve success.

Life is founded on principles. Results are a function of effort. If you won't pay the price, then don't expect the prize. If you don't know what to do with your brain, then it means you don't deserve it in the first place.

What changes are you willing to make to put your life on the right track to success?

Time to think.
